Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Little Safe Space (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits our website or gets in touch with us, including parents, carers and people interested in working with us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it and the rights you have under UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Little Safe Space is a planned specialist early years provision based in Enfield, North London. For the purposes of data protection law, Little Safe Space is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

You can contact us about this policy or your personal information by emailing info@littlesafespace.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Information you give us when you get in touch – for example your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message when you register your interest, ask a question or enquire about careers.
  • Information about your child – if you choose to tell us about your child (such as their age, needs or diagnosis status) when registering interest. Information about a child's health or additional needs is “special category” data and we treat it with extra care.
  • Career enquiry information – such as your experience, qualifications or CV if you choose to send them to us.
  • Technical information – when you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically processes limited technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the website securely.

Please only share the information you are comfortable sharing. We do not need detailed information about your child's needs at the enquiry stage.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your questions and enquiries.
  • To keep you updated about the development and opening of Little Safe Space, where you have asked us to.
  • To consider expressions of interest in future job opportunities.
  • To operate, secure and improve our website.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Our lawful bases

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Consent – when you ask us to keep you updated or choose to share information about your child. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests – to respond to enquiries and run and secure our website, where this does not override your rights.
  • Steps prior to a contract – where you enquire about a place or a role with us.
  • Legal obligation – where we must keep or share information by law.

Where we process special category data (such as information about a child's health or additional needs), we do so with your explicit consent.

5. Sharing your information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

  • with trusted service providers who help us run our website and communications (such as our website host and email provider), who may only use it on our instructions;
  • where we are required to by law, or to protect the safety and wellbeing of a child, in line with our safeguarding responsibilities.

Our website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. Enquiries and expressions of interest are normally kept for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or an ongoing relationship (such as a confirmed place or employment) requires us to keep them for longer.

7. Keeping your information safe

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website is served securely over HTTPS. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to protect the information you share with us.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information;
  • ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation (data portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please email info@littlesafespace.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

9. Children's information

Our website is intended for parents, carers and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Any information about a child should be provided by their parent or carer.

10. Cookies

For information about cookies, please see our Cookies Policy.

11. Making a complaint

If you have concerns about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our provision develops. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
